Daughter of the late jazzer, Roland Paolucci (The University of Akron Jazz Studies, Cleveland Jazz Orchestra), vocalist Anna Paolucci is soon making Akron her home again! Anna’s nod to the jazzy torch blues and standards of the 1940’s take us back to an elegant time of elegant hats and opera gloves. Her group, Anna & the Consequences, have played BLU many times over the last five years, as well as other area live music venues, allowing her to invite local legends Rock Wehrmann, Matt DeRubertis, Jack Schantz, Jim Rupp, Paul Ferguson, Mark Gonder and more to join her on stage.

Anna’s smokin’ hot band includes top tier jazzers, like Columbus’ Tom Davis (Vaughn Weister’s Famous Jazz Orchestra) and upright player Trent Sampson (Whirlybirds, a modern swing/pop group). Akron’s master drummer, Roy King, not only played with Pat Pace and Anna’s father, Roland in the 1960’s, making 2 generations especially exciting. King is currently grooving with Rachel Brown and the Beatnik Playboys. Local composer, Amy Spencer (Church of Starry Wisdom) will add her musings on piano and sing while Merissa Coleman steps up the groove on percussion and vocals too! Anna has spent 33 years working and playing with the best jazzers Columbus, Ohio has to offer including Lisa Bella Donna, Roger Hines, Stan Smith, Jim Rupp, Pete Mills, Bryan Olsheski, Dave Powers, Dwight Bailey, Tom Davis, the late Mark Flugge and many more.

Anna can be found singing at Notes in Copious, The Victoria Opera House, Thirty Three West (Newark), Martin Luther King Performing and Cultural Arts Complex, Lincoln Theater, Huntington Park “Dinner on the Diamond” with Paul Revere & the Raiders, The Refectory Restaurant. Champagne Under the Stars, Cafe Bella, Columbus Italian Festival (7 yrs to date), Columbus Arts Festival (6 yrs), Columbus Food Truck Festival (4 yrs), Bicentennial Park, Columbus Metro Parks, Grandview Library Music Series, many Columbus area Farmers’ Markets, Columbus Metropolitan Club biannual events to name a few.
