Having been called a “wonderful composer” and “sophisticated player” as well as “one of the most unique guitar voices to emerge over the last decade”, Brandon Coleman is one of the Midwest’s foremost jazz guitarist. Based out of Cincinnati, Coleman has performed at many notable venues and festivals, including The Blue Wisp Jazz Club, the first annual Loja Jazz Festival (2012) in Loja, Ecuador, the 2014 CBGB Festival in NYC, and the 2014 Columbus Jazz & Rib Fest.
Of Brooklyn-based saxophonist Noah Preminger, The New York Times declares: “Mr. Preminger designs a different kind of sound for each note, an individual destiny and story.” Preminger, just 29, has recorded numerous critically acclaimed albums and is steadily listed as one of the best tenor saxophonists by critics and readers on the annual DownBeat Magazine Poll. Three new recordings are expected by early 2016, including an all-ballads date on the French vinyl label, Newvelle Records, and live recordings from the 55 Bar and Smalls Jazz Club in NYC.
Also in the group is Keigo Hirakawa, who is among the most interactive and creative jazz pianists today. Matt Wiles on bass performs regularly in Cincinnati as well as Chicago and New York City, and Jeff Mellot is a top-notch drummer based in Cincinnati.
