ABOUT ABOUT

Featuring Lucas Kadish (guitar), Cory Todd (bass), Zaire Darden (drums).

Lucas Kadish is one of the premier up and coming jazz guitarists on the scene today. He was born in Cleveland Heights and raised in Hudson, Ohio. Lucas received his first guitar at the age of 8 and has been passionate about music ever since.

Lucas started performing at bars and festivals as a bandleader, guitarist, and vocalist with his progressive rock/funk band “Case Sensitive,” at 13. Lucas led his band to venues and events such as the The Kent Stage, The Barking Spider Tavern, First Night Akron, Hessler St. Fair, The Kent Heritage Festival, and many more.

In high school, Lucas began gigging frequently in Northeast Ohio. Lucas has played with Bobby Selvaggio’s Grass Roots Movement band, Dominick Farinacci, Josh Rzepka, Kamal Abdul Alim, Barbara J Barrett, Sam Blakeslee, Joe Leaman, Moustache Yourself, among many others.

Lucas was named a YoungArts finalist his senior year of high school where he traveled to Miami for master classes and performances. He was also named a semi-finalist in the U.S. Presidential Scholars of the Arts program. Now 19, Lucas lives in NYC where he studies at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music on the school’s President’s Scholarship.

The Late Night Jazz Jam is for musicians and music lovers alike, and will begin right after the Acid Cats’ sets! Come hang, have a drink (if you’re of age), and experience this exciting forum for musical expression. Bring your “axe” and play through tunes, pick up licks, trade 4’s, and enjoy the camaraderie of having a gathering place for the area’s finest professional jazz musicians (as well as the up-and-comers).
