ABOUT ABOUT

After a sold-out BLU debut, sensational Akron-native soul singer returns with his dynamic showmanship & top-notch band for a very special 2nd annual Valentine's Date Night done right! Featuring Wesley Bright, Jimmy Parsons, Nathan-Paul Davis, Matt Garrett, Max Brady, Matthew DeRubertis, Dan Fernandez.

Wesley Bright & The Honeytones are a soul band from the funky rust belt town of Akron, OH. Although he’s only been on the scene for several years, Wesley has grown to be a regional favorite amongst true soul-lovers, and vinyl collectors.

As a vocalist, Wesley is quoted to be a “honey-voiced frontman who’s got the pipes and the moves to keep the crowd going all night.” He has held his own while sharing a stage with legendary acts like War, Tower of Power, Otis Clay, Lee Fields, Charles Bradley, and Sly and The Family Stone. Tower of Power band leader, Emilio Castillo, was so impressed with Wesley’s performance, he offered Wesley an audition with Tower of Power immediately following their show together at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

In 2011, Wesley began completely mesmerizing crowds with his timeless sound and stunning dance moves as the front man of Northern Soul band, Wesley Bright and the Hi-Lites. Now, backed by the Honeytones, Wesley is stepping out on his own to create a new soul sound that bridges the gap between classic soul and the modern sound. Being compared to greats like Al Green and Otis Redding, there is something really show stopping about him. His way of engaging an audience and getting the whole crowd to sing and dance together has earned him the reputation of “A true dynamo on stage.”

In 2017, the band will be releasing some hot new soul stompers on a series of 45’s through Colemine Records. Stay tuned for more info!

For this very special Valentine’s Weekend show, Wesley will be joined on stage by the musical talents of Jimmy Parsons (guitar), Matthew DeRubertis (bass), Dan Fernandez (drums), Matt Garrett (trumpet), Nathan-Paul Davis (alto saxophone), and Max Brady (trombone) – get your tickets today as they will go quickly! (photo by: Shane Wynn)
