Daughter of the late Roland Paolucci, vocalist Anna Paolucci is making Akron her home again! Her band features guitar genius Teddy Pantelas, Columbus’ Tom Davis (Vaughn Wiester’s Big Band), bassist Rob Sobnosky (U of A jazz studies grad & bandleader), Jacob Campbell on piano plus the magnificent Ms Sunceray (Sunny) Tabler on drums. An educator, multi-style drummer/percussionist, you may remember Sunny from the jam-packed "Women In Jazz" show at BLU this spring! Guitarist Teddy Pantelas has multiple releases of his original music and this HOT band of musicians will play a few between backing Anna.
Anna’s nod to the jazzy torch blues and standards of the 1940’s takes us back to an elegant time of top hats and opera gloves. Her group, Anna & the Consequences, played BLU several times over the last four years, as well as other Akron area live music venues, allowing her to invite local legends Rock Wehrmann, Matt DeRubertis, Jack Schantz, Jim Rupp, Paul Ferguson, Mark Gonder and more to join her on stage.
Anna returns to Akron after 30 years of working and playing with the best jazzers Columbus, Ohio has to offer including Roger Hines, Stan Smith, Jim Rupp, Pete Mills, Bryan Olsheski, Dave Powers, Dwight Bailey, Tom Davis, the late Mark Flugge and many more.
