Oberlin based trumpeter & pianist, Daniel Spearman, has a very eclectic musical life. Depending on your tastes, you’ve seen him playing a highly explosive blend of funk, gospel, and R&B as trumpeter and horn arranger for FunkyardX, swingin’ hard on keys with the likes of Curtis Taylor, or MD’ing and singing background vocals for the Kinsman Dazz Band.
Inspired greatly by the likes of Nicholas Payton, Roy Hargrove and Clifford Brown, Daniel will be bringing the sounds that he loves to the stage. You can expect to see all of those influences molded into a unique musical experience that’s one part jazz, one part funk and all parts feeling good.
