ABOUT ABOUT

Esto Jazz is a group of musicians who enjoy playing a variety of good music, especially jazz and instrumental pop. The goal of the group is to play music that is recognizable but is pliable enough to be stretched in various ways. They also perform a variety of originals written by Bob Esterle (bandleader/saxophonist) and Dominic Reto (piano/keyboards).

Be sure to catch this top-notch local band as they kick off the first Friday night of March! Featuring Bob Esterle (saxophones), Dominic Reto (piano/keyboards), Wilbur Krebs (bass), and James "J.R." Richley (drums).

About Esto Jazz
Bob Esterle (saxophones) - Bob has performed in a wide variety of musical groups--from symphony orchestras to jazz big bands--throughout Ohio. He has backed up such artists as The Rat Pack (Las Vegas Tribute Group), Michael Cavanaugh (from the Broadway Production of "Movin' Out"), Frankie Avalon, Bobby Caldwell, Olivia Newton-John, Sandy Duncan, Ray Charles, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, The Platters, The Fifth Dimension, Rich Little, Joan Rivers, Hal Linden and Red Skelton. He has also performed for Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton. Dominic Reto (piano/keyboards) - Dominic has enjoyed music for many years. He has a great ear and a real knack for making people stop and listen to his talent for tickling the ivories! Dominic began playing the piano when he was ten years old. He started taking lessons in Warren, Ohio and studied music through the next ten years with a variety of teachers covering technique, theory, style and history. Dominic was able to develop a truly appealing style of his own playing genres ranging from Smooth Jazz, Jazz Standards and Jazz Fusion to contemporary Blues, Motown and Classic Rock. He has written and performed several songs and over the years has enhanced ensembles including Traces, Cruise Control, John Morton & Friends and The Steve Cipriano Band.

Wilbur Krebs (bass) - Growing up in Northeast Ohio, Wilbur Krebs became a much sought after bass/guitarist in the area. In 1989 he left a gig teaching at the Oberlin Conservatory to move to San Francisco with his enigmatic band, Third Plane. On the west coast he picked up where he left off, performing and recording with many national/international acts which included Willie Nelson, Bob Weir, Paul McCandles, Anthony Braxton, Alphabet Soup, Donald Byrd, Norman Connors, Bob James, Larry Schneider, Steve Smith, and Dred Scott, among others. After numerous performances and recordings, Wilbur is a much sought after musician on the scene today.

James “J.R.” Richley (drums) - James has performed internationally as both a drummer and percussionist in a wide variety of musical styles. From his early days as a staff studio musician for Walt Disney Productions in Los Angeles, he has gone on to record albums for numerous record labels including Universal Records (with producer John Simon), MCA, Atlantic, Koch Jazz, 1201 Music, Seismic and Blaster records. His Radio, DVD and Television credits include performances on PBS, Michael Feldman’s National Public Radio (NPR) show “WhadYa’ Know?,” “A Christmas Spectacular” for Dish Network, and numerous others.
