Our exciting annual Student All-Stars Concert Series returns with performances by some of Kent State University’s top groups: Nova Jazz Singers, Jazz Combos, Jazz Workshop Ensemble, Jazz Orchestra, & Jazz Faculty!
Through the school’s Jazz Minor curriculum and ensemble performance, jazz students at Kent State University are provided the opportunity to improve individual musicianship, create a personal voice, learn from and be inspired by the rich history, understand the evolutionary process and modern trends of jazz, while becoming musical leaders and positive contributors to the Kent State University experience.
Join us as we continue our BLU Jazz+ Student All-Stars Concert Series by featuring the Kent State University Jazz programs! Half the proceeds from this event go back to the Kent State University music department, with the other half going back to the BLU Jazz+ Masterclass Foundation, so bring your friends and family out and show your support for this awesome local music program!

ABOUT BLU JAZZ+ MASTERCLASS FOUNDATION
Committed to the preservation of America’s treasured art form of jazz, BLU Jazz+ Masterclass Foundation (BJMF) is a new program developed by the founders of BLU Jazz+ Akron (BJA) that brings “front-row” jazz education performance & mentorship opportunities to student musicians and art lovers alike by presenting a series of masterclasses led by top visiting musicians from all over the world.
Recipient of a 2015 Knights Art Challenge grant award by the Knight Foundation, BLU Jazz+ Masterclass Foundation expands upon the essence of Akron, Ohio’s award-winning live jazz destination, BLU Jazz+ Akron (BJA), launched in Fall 2014.
