Akron’s own, guitarist Dan Wilson, is one of the biggest names on the jazz guitar scene today! He has shared the stage with the likes of Russell Malone, Les McCann, Christian McBride, Eric Marienthal, and Dave Stryker, to name a few.
A finalist in the 2015 Indaba Music Wes Montgomery International Jazz Guitar Competition, Dan has been on an international tour with three-time Grammy nominated jazz organ legend, Joey DeFrancesco, in support of their all-new studio album, “Trip Mode,” which also features drummer Jason Brown & bassist Mike Boone.
Presented by the BLU Jazz+ Masterclass Foundation (BJMF), the BLU Jazz Jam is for musicians and music lovers alike! Come hang, have a drink (if you’re of age), and experience this exciting forum for musical expression. Bring your “axe” and play through tunes, pick up licks, trade 4’s, and enjoy the camaraderie of having a gathering place for the area’s finest professional jazz musicians (as well as the up-and-comers)!
