ABOUT ABOUT

Under the guidance of Youngstown State University's Dr. David Morgan, star percussionist & composer brings a modern jazz twist to Italian folk songs for a very special evening in the BLU Zone!

Anthony Taddeo’s music is a reflection of his Italian-American heritage and is based on Italian folk songs he discovered while he was a student in Dr. Ewelina Boczkowska’s graduate research course. The songs were originally recorded by Smithsonian Folkways researcher Alan Lomax in various regions of Italy. Taddeo was so inspired by the music, he brought it to his jazz composition lessons with Dr. David Morgan. Under the guidance of Dr. Morgan, Taddeo re-composed and arranged the songs into modern jazz compositions.
